Dry Needling
Dry needling is a targeted treatment used to relieve muscle pain, reduce tension, and restore normal movement. It focuses on myofascial trigger points, often referred to as muscle knots, that can cause pain, tightness, and restricted mobility.
Using a thin, sterile needle, our therapists precisely treat these trigger points to help the muscle relax and reset, allowing improved blood flow and faster recovery.
How Dry Needling Helps
Dry needling is commonly used to:
- Reduce muscle pain and spasms
- Improve range of motion
- Decrease tension and stiffness
- Support faster healing and recovery
It is especially effective for chronic muscle tightness, overuse injuries, and pain that has not fully responded to other treatments alone.

What to Expect During Treatment
Your physical therapist will first perform a thorough evaluation to determine if dry needling is appropriate for you. Treatment is quick and precise, and most patients feel minimal discomfort. Some experience a brief muscle twitch or mild soreness afterward, which typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours.
Dry needling is often combined with other therapies such as fascial counterstrain, manual therapy, stretching, and corrective exercises to maximize results.
Is Dry Needling Right for You?
Dry needling may be beneficial if you are experiencing:
- Muscle tightness or knots
- Persistent pain or spasms
- Limited mobility or stiffness
- Pain related to posture, activity, or overuse
Your therapist will determine if this technique fits into your individualized treatment plan.
